What we do
Bangladesh International Medical Students’ Scientific Congress (BIMSSCON) was the first International Medical Students’ scientific congress of Bangladesh. Since then it continues to be the largest congress of such and acts as a medium for exchanging ideas and information on important scientific & health issues and is open for medical students across the globe. So far 4 editions of BIMSSCON have been organized, in 2015, 2016, 2018 & 2020.
Every year IFMSA Bangladesh arranges a comprehensive Research Methodology workshop of 6 weeks’ duration to equip our medicos to be a sound researcher in future. So far four such comprehensive workshops have been organized, namely SCOREsearch 1.0, SCOREsearch 2.0, SCOREsearch 3.1 & SCOREsearch 3.2.
Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights including HIV and AIDS
IFMSA Bangladesh has worked on sensitive yet important issues like Reproductive Health, Menstrual Hygiene, Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer, AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases, Maternal Health etc.
Human Rights & Peace
IFMSA Bangladesh has organized campaign such as ‘Project Grey: healthcare for underprivileged senior citizen’, ‘ Say No – Unite to end violence against women’, ‘Warmth for the Nation an Winter Medical Camp’, ‘Seminar on Climate Change & Cancer’, ‘International Woman’s Day celebration’, ‘Workshop on Health and Human Rights’, ‘Workshop on Role of Health Professionals in Disaster Management’, ‘Workshop On Basic Techniques of Self Defense’, ‘Campaign for flood affected people of North Bengal in 2017’, ‘Intersex Awareness Day Poster and Writing Competition’, ‘Project Altruism: health and education assistance for underprivileged children’, ‘World Human Rights Day celebration’, ‘Speak your mind: a workshop on peer support counselling’,’ Workshop on Rights and Regulations of a Physician’ etc. to uphold human rights and peace.
